What does "Book Condition" mean?
New: A brand new book. Never applied to a book that has been previously owned.
Very Good: Looks like it has never been read. Spine has no creases; pages and dust cover (if applicable) have no nicks or tears. No notes or highlighting. May have remainder marks on outside edges.
Good: Has been gently read. All pages and the dust cover (if applicable) are intact. Spine may show signs of use such as light creasing. May include name of previous owner or “From the Library Of” stickers. May include ex-library books.
Acceptable: Has been read. All pages and the dust cover (if applicable) are intact. The spine may be showing significant wear or there may be other damage to the book such as small tears to the cover or some staining. This may include ex-library books with the 1st page cut out when they were discarded. Pages may include very limited notes or highlighting. Any damages that cause a book to be marked as acceptable are noted in the listing.
What we NEVER sell: Books with spines that are broken, books that smell like cigarettes, moldy books, books with pages missing (except ex-library books with the very 1st page missing as noted above). Books with excessive underling, highlighting, notes or stains.
We are always more than happy to take pictures of the book you are interested in and e-mail them to you! This can be especially useful with books marked acceptable so you can see exactly why the book was marked acceptable before you purchase it!
